I am a 1974 TKMCE graduate in Mech. Engineering. Worked in India in the private sector for over 5 years before migrating to U.S.A. in mid 1980.
MS in Mech Engineering, Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago , Illinois , USA , 1986. Worked for private industry for six years; then started with U.S. Department of Defense in 1987 in the Systems Engineering Branch. Moved to program management team in 1990, overseeing major weapon system development (long term projects with multi-billion dollar budget). As a team member, made predictive analysis on technical, cost and schedule and provided the analysis to program manager.
Since August, 2004 I am working for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the federal regulatory agency for aircraft operations in the United States . I work as a project manager, certifying avionics and mechanical systems installations in commercial, business, and general aviation aircraft that include the Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault Aviation (Falcon), and Embraer model aircraft. Worked on the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 (not in service yet), in certifying the wheels & brakes (electrically actuated brake on 787).
Completed numerous courses in Program management, Contract management, Systems engineering, Business and Financial management. Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), the highest honor in Contract Management from the National Contract Management Association, a U.S. based professional society. Senior member, Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SME); voting member of the SAE Aircraft Landing Gear Systems Committee (2006-07).
