PROFILE OF E.S.SURESH

I am from the 1982 Mech Branch. 

In TKMCE, I was active in NSS and it was during our time that TKMCE won theaward for the best NSS Unit in Kerala University (which was covering colleges upto EM District then) and Prof.M.Salihu was promoted as the NSS Co-ordinator of Kerala Universiy. Abdul Salim (81C), Isaac (81C) and myself were among a few who started "Prerana", the wall magazine of NSS Unit. I had my own cartoon/poster column called "Observers", commenting on contemporary social issues, which used to appear on the gate towards the Men's Hostel.

I started my career with Bharat Petroleum, Bombay in December 1981 and moved to Indian Aluminium Company, Kalamassery in March 82. After working there for about 9 years, I went to Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia in 1991 and did my MBA with specialisation in Total Quality Management. I passed with Distinction and was the recipient of MBA Dean's Bursary Award.

Since 1992, I am a "Garshom", working in the Middle East. I was with CAT (Contracting & Trading Company), Abu Dhabi for 4 years, after which I moved to Saudi Arabia and worked with Al Shuwayer Contracting & Trading as theri QA/QC Manager in 1995-96.

Since January 1997, I am with Al Naboodah Contracting Company, Dubai, working as QA/QC Manager.

I have been actively involving with TKMCE and other alumni forums of engineers from Kerala. I ahve been an Executive Committee member of TKMCE UAE Chapter since 2000 and was the Treasurer for the year 2003. I was the General Secretary of KERA (Kerala Engineering Alumni), an apex body of 8 engineering alumni associations of Kerala in UAE, during the eyar 2006-07. I am a founder member of TAGA Steering Committee and a life member of Thiruvananthapuram Chapter.

I am active in Toastmasters International, a worldwide non-profit organisation aimed at improving communication and leadership skills. Currently I am an Advanced Toastmaster (Silver) and Competent Leader.

My wife Sheela is an employee of Kerala University. My elder son Sidharth is 17 and younger son Sangeeth is 14.
